Autel robotics thermal drone, any good?

Put it this way, if all things are equal with the thermal camera, a lens can zoom in and make it so more pixels are used to create the bear because the screen area is a small section of what you are viewing. But if the same lens is used and the thermal sensor has a higher resolution, the bear will be even more detailed and identifiable.

Yes you do have a point about the lens, but when you make all things equal, resolution wins IMO.

I was gonna order the 640t today but they have increased the price wih like 30% so i wont buy it.
I feel like i can just as well go for the mavic 3t instead if i save money for like 3 months.

Now i have bought a 640t and i think its okay but nothing more than that.
I can see a horse on a open field at like 600 meters and 120 altitude and i can see myself standing in the woods at 200m altitude and the camera is pointed 90 degrees donw.

Negative things:
-Big problem for me is that it detect stones and other object thats been heating up during the day and i thought it would handle that better before i bought it.
if my body temperature is 37 celcius and the stones are like 15 or 20 celcius on the evening and even lower than that on the morning, how can it still show the stones clearly?
I thought it would be a setting where you could have a specifiv temperature range only.
If that was possbile, i could set the temperaure to like 33-40 celcius and then it would never detect stones beccause they are never that warm other than a sunny and hot day.

-Hughe dissapointment is the screen, i thought it would be like on the dji where image covers the entire screen but no, on this drone it is a half inch gap on both sides on the screen and the image you see on the screen is actuall smaller than on the dji rc controller.

-When you land it in your hand, it have a hard time to know when to stop the engines and 2 times i have crashed it beccause when i held it, i thought it would stop but then the engines went full throttle so i released it in an angle and it flied into a bush and stoped.
The propellers are also hard as hell and i cut my finger quite bad on it.

-The controller is very loud compared to other controllers i have used, it has a fan inside it that is always on and i really hade it.

The good things i have found is:
- Pretty quiet, at least more quiet then the mavic 3 pro.
- Good range on the controller, 500m+ when im in the woods, better than my mavic 3 pro.
-Battery life is also good and even if i have not taken time on the flight yet i think its better than mavic 3 pro.

Would i recomend someone to buy it?
Yes i actually would if you only need the thermal camera.
Should it really cost 3000 usd? Probobly not.
Since there are no other thermal drones in that price range, i feel like we dont have so many options, its either the autel 640T or like the mavic 3t for twice as much.
I rate the drone 7/10

Did you get the Evo 2 640 or the Evo Lite 640?

If you got the Lite this may help with your problem of wanting to only display a certain temperature range.

Try the Isotherm setting. You may be able to have a temperature value or range appear a distinct color. Also try the temperature alarm.
