Auto VS Manual

What is all the hype about using the Mavic Air in "manual" mode as opposed to "auto" mode...
when doing video....

I shot the golf course in the 55+ community that I live in......The first time I shot all 18 holes in "auto." ......then I shot the 18 holes in "manual" using filters all the editing for both clips was done in Diavinci Resolve 15......I showed both clips to a number of friends /golfers and "most" of them liked the clip shot in auto best.....

am I missing something here.

Did you use the correct filter to get twice the shutter speed as your frame rate?

For example: shooting 4k24 you would want a shutter speed of 1/50. Shooting 2k60 a shutter speed of 1/120 would be the smoothest "cinematic feel".
