Just wondering if anyone else had poorly calibrated sensors on their M2 out of the box?

I got mine a few weeks ago but for the first few flights it was almost unusable as it kept detecting objects in its path that wasn’t there. The first flight I thought it was the lights as it was dusk with street light etc. but the next day went out to shoot at a site and couldn’t even fly in a strait line for more than 20 secs or so without it braking for “obstacles”. Had to shoot in sport mode. Finally had to calibrate everything in DJI Assistant before it stoped. No prompts in app to calibrate or anything...

Anyone else had this? First time in all my DJI drones I’ve ever needed to calibrate them.Just makes me wonder how many others are slightly out to give reduced performance but not enough for phantom obstacles..

Could also imagine this issue could be quite annoying for inexperienced pilots, especially if it started to refuse to come back..

Nope. One flight was dusk, one was cloudy and the other a bit of sun. All three had the issues, tried different directions and changing the speeds, still the same. As I said it was pretty much unusable for footage due to the breaking/ pausing in shot until I recalibrated the sensors on the PC and after that I’ve not had a single one since.

I may have had this issue although not as extreme.

I had quite a few false positives, and it wasn’t the sun. I calibrated last week when I got the red warning and I haven’t had a false positive in 7-8 flights since.

If it refuses to come back I would hope people would know how to disable their sensors or just go to sport mode.

Check out DJI's web site there is a program there where you can calibrate your sensors. There is also a youtube video on it .
this if for MP but you should find what you need specifically.

Just ran into this. Did the calibration. Next day it was back. Turned it off and replaced it farther away from a building and a car. Turned it back on and the error message was gone. Happy flying!
