That's a good point I hadn't considered.It depends on how long you will be storing it. As with any battery powered item, remove battery if not using for a prolonged period of time. I don't know if it is necessary, but I would remove it if you are not going to use it within the auto-discharge time because the battery may heat up while discharging.
Leave it out. You eliminate any chance of terminal corrosion from electrolysis if it is not plugged in....What about after the battery has auto-discharged to storage level?
