Saw a guy crash his drone due to the battery pop out mid flight! Someone commented that flying in sports mode can cause a battery to overheat to the point where it can pop itself out! Anyone heard or have knowledge on this? Thinking I might get a battery strap for my MA2?
Could you possibly post a link to these battery covers?Partly true: What happens is this you put in a battery that has already started to show that the battery has been compromised by a slight swelling and you put the battery in and as you fly it pops the clip and disconnects and the battery pops and the drone falls out of the sky . This was much more talked about on the Mavic 2 Forum.
We have tested the Batteries and found that they our very prone to moisture especially thru the power button.
They are also very susceptible to quick changes in Temperature.
Because of this we suggest the Battery Covers with the Wet Suit that fully protects the Battery and the Power Button and fully seals in the battery from popping out just in case.

when you fly in sport mode the current draw on the battery will cause it to get hotter than if you were flying in tripod mode ,so if there is any swelling to the battery then it will increase the chances of the battery becoming detached especially if the weather is very hot as well and also when you stop in sport mode the drone will stop very quickly and this can cause the battery to pop if the swelling has already started to lift the battery ,that is why the MA2 has the metal clips that show if they are fully home and will put up a warning if the battery is not fully seatedSaw a guy crash his drone due to the battery pop out mid flight! I have skin on my MA2 so I guess the wet suit & battery covers would need to replace the skin, & I won’t be doing that. I wouldn’t fly in wet conditions in any case hence my question about using a battery strap.Could you possibly post a link to these battery covers?

The Wet Suits work really well right over the skins, we have some pictures of what that looks like, the strap also works but it is not as easy to work with as the battery covers and the straps cover the sensors , its a frustrating chore after awhile where the battery covers our completely out of the way and easy to use . So you have options.
they may work well over the skin, but they cover almost 90% of the skin.

Why buy a skin if you are going to cover it up, IMHO one or the other
Great idea if you plan to fly in the rain, but for most of us we just wait for a nicer day.
Squidinc has a gorgeous skin on his drone, it would be a shame to cover it over
Each application has its place
I respect your motive for constantly pushing your product whenever you perceive to see an openingThe idea is to just use the Battery Covers to protect the battery so they dont swell in the first place , The Straps our after the fact and after the swell.
Nobody wants to fly in the rain but showers happen on sunny days and can cost you $150 battery when it gets wet as we have shown how fast the battery can be come compromised in minutes in the rain do to the power button being so open .
So gorgeous skin is cool but protecting your batteries should be a priority at the cost of each battery.

Well said Torcan, and good advice.Get yourself a velcro strap that will go around the the Battery and body of the drone, being careful not to cover any of the sensors. a 50 cent solution to your fears
or: be very sure that the battery is well clipped into its place before take-off and the battery is 100% good to go as well with no swelling, You should not have a problem
at times this forum can also make us all skiddish and in fear, you can't just go through life wondering what if. Otherwise they would never fly
Every day is an adventure, you put everything on your side, take every pre-caution possible and then go for it.
Things happen, you cannot live in fear of the worst scenario constantly
Have fun, be safe
