Could be a defective controller. I would contact DJI about it and get a new one. Under warranty, of course.

Just received report from DJI repair service, they say that the Remote Controller Main board needs replacement, along with the Flight Controller ESC board. Totaling $320, covered under Warranty. This Remote Controller they are repairing was sent to me as a replacement for Remote Controller issue in December, 2017. I'm assuming they sent me a "rebuilt" one that they didn't test.
