I went ahead and successfully connected my Mini 4 Pro to the Motion Controller 3 and also both to Goggles 3. In doing so, I "unbound" the Care Refresh Plan attached to the Mini 4 Pro via the RC2 Controller. Do I now have to somehow attach the Care Refresh Plan to the Motion Controller/Mini 4 Pro? If so, how do I do this? Thank you.

You do not. Although this has everything to do with the Care Refresh program, the binding process with the equipment has little or nothing to do with the Care Refresh status....if that makes sense?

It does. Just seems strange that I have to unbind the plan from the RC2 and not re-bind to a different device, the motion controller in this case. Great, sounds like I'm all set! Much appreciated.

I believe the plan is attached to the drone and it stays with the drone forever regardless of the equipment bound to it. I also believe the plan is completely detached and unaffected by the binding process OTHER than you need to do it if you expect to have a successful flyaway claim. The entire process is an enigma and sometimes I don't think everyone at DJI even knows exactly how it works. Sounds like it was pieced together over time and they did the best they could do under the circumstances and as long as it works for the plan owner, that's all that matters.

Yes, that's all that matters. But if the plan is attached to the drone, which seems to be way it should in fact be, why do you have to unbind it from the RC2 to use the motion controller? But maybe as you say, it's just due to the way these processes were all set up from the beginning.

Binding to an RC is only to provide flyaway coverage, because you don't have the drone when you make your claim. The RC provides logs that can verify the flyaway.

You don't have to bind to make a CR claim if you have the drone to send back in. But there's no advantage to not binding.
