Bringing a Mavic into Dubai

Hi All,

Heading to Europe next month and am planning to fly the drone whilst there. On return will be spending a couple of nights in Dubai.

I have no interest in flying the drone in Dubai.

Has anyone had any issues bring a drone into Dubai with no intention of operating it?

Thanks Oyibo it appears that way. I would assume all would hold a licence. My concern is without one would that affect my ability to bring the drone in

Hi, did you take the drone to Dubai? I’m heading out next month and staying for a few nights in Dubai on the return leg of the trip... no intention of flying in dubai... just don’t want to have my mavic confiscated

Technically it is possible and no problem at all.
I had a two days stop-over in Dubai. I had Mavic (as Emirates instructed me) in checked baggage and batteries in cabin (in LipoSafe bag) and when they asked me at check-in I told them I have a dron in checked baggage and batteries separated and it was ok.
BTW: You can even buy Mavic in DutyFreeShop at DXB ;-)

And ofcourse I never tried to fly in Dubai without the registration... Mavic was speeling in the hotel room safe
