can anyone offer tips on where to buy a new cable for controller to connect to my iPhone? Last time I went to plug it into the phone the connector piece broke off flush...

Which controller and which Iphone. My last three Iphones and Ipads have all had different types of connections

There are many of them on eBay. Mini USB to lightning. Most of the are around $7.00 US. Look for "DJI Pro 2 to iPhone cable".
