Not sure if this is the correct subforum, or if I'm using the rights term.

I managed to break the 'drone guard' for my Mavic 3 Pro. You know, that plastic thing with elastic that covers the gimbal and the whole drone before we stow it in a case.

It was only 14F yesterday when I had a commercial real estate shoot, and as I usually do, I just tossed the guard into my bag after removing the drone. A bit later I flung the soft case lid closed and put the case into the bed of my pickup while I flew. I suppose the cold temp made the plastic brittle and my closing of the case lid snapped it.

Think I'll attempt a repair with some CA glue. And maybe I'll source some scrap plastic to augment it, too.

EDIT: I now see it's called a "Storage Cover".

If the CA glue doesn't work, you can purchase a new OEM storage cover here on Amazon or here at B&H. And if you want to save a bit, they are selling on eBay used starting at about $14 + shipping.

A repair should be straightforward. Consider applying a small piece of plastic as a "splint" on the outer surface to span the breaks. Rough up the material where the adhesive will go. JB Weld has worked well for me in a lot of similar situations. If that doesn't work out, I have an extra I could send you.

Sorry to hear about that. The cheapest I've found it at Newegg for $19.00 (used but in very good condition). If you want just a cover for the gimbal, you can get one for around $12.00

I like how the one I have tucks the props in. If my repair doesn't work, I'll probably buy a new one.

I hear ya. I like the one on the Mavic 4 Pro, as it protects the gimbal and props, so I know what you mean. Like many, it took me a few attempts to put it on quickly enough to suit me lol

I'm still not thrilled with that aspect of it. But it seems to work.

This one. Much easier to attach then the original one. Once this is parked in its case, the props at the bottom are held in place by the cavity in the case.
