The FAA recently reopened the BVLOS NPRM (Beyond Visual Line Of Sight Notice of Proposed Rulemaking). It's a very short window (14 days, and closes on February 11th.

I wanted to get this video out sooner, but couldn't make the time. But if you have time this weekend, please watch this video and submit a comment on the provided link in the video.

The FAA is asking for more information on Electronic Conspicuity, which will affect the right of way between manned and unmanned aircraft when flying BVLOS. It's a very important subject for the drone community, although more so for the 107 crowd than the recreational flyers. But both are affected.

The FAA is only asking for answers to 7 very specific questions, and you don't need to answer all of them. As a matter of fact, very few people can answer the first two. They are very specific. But the rest are answerable, especially question 7. I break these down to the best of my ability, so don't worry.

And again, you don't have to answer them all, but the FAA does need to have your opinion. The manned aviation world is definitely going to comment, so if we want to have scalable and safe BVLOS operations (not just for delivery and inspection purposes), we need to make sure the FAA hears from the UAS community as well.

Thanks!
