I have tried every cable supplied with the drone, not one of them will fit in the back of the aircraft socket. What type of plug is it that goes in there please? The cable that fits in the controller is a different type and there is no adaptor on it, it fits straight in and charges the controller perfectly. I can't find anything about the aircraft needing a specialist cable to connect it.

This drone thing is getting more and more frustrating and difficult. Why can't things be rationalised and standardised?

The Mavic Air 1 has a USB-C port in the back next to the SD card slot

They usually come with a USB-C cable and a micro usb adapter

I don't have an Air 1 but according to the manual the controller has a micro USB & the Air has a USB C port.
Download Air 1 manual HERE

I have all the cables they supplied. I did not get an adaptor. The cable fits the controller - but the computer can't see it, even though it charges it.... I cannot find a cable that fits the arcraft, so it is unable to be plugged in. I have yet to read how to do the batteries.....

I am getting rapidly disiilusioned by drone photography. It is simply beyond my capabilities. This is far more complicated than it is made out to be...over 6 hours I have been sat here trying to do an update. I still haven't connected to the update that I have downloaded. It is crazy.

When connecting to the computer, the remote controller needs to be turned on.

Also when connecting the aircraft it needs to be powered on as well

I can't connect the aircraft - there is no cable in the kit that fits. The controller was turned on, then after a while it started beeping at me for a couple ofminutes, then the beeping stopped.

I thought I had followed the video to the letter.... I am doing something stupid that I don't know I am doing.

To connect your drone to computer Please buy a android usb cable to usb C. All new Android phones use usb c type cable now. Too cheap and easily available

I will have to get a cable I think, to be honest, I don't know what these cables are. The one that fits the screen doesn't fit the drone....why can't they be standardised? I will take the whole thing in to the shop and see if the people in there can help - PC World sell Mavic drones as well, so they should know.

Cough cough.

If you are on about the port numbered "9" in the "aircraft diagram" on page 12 of the manual https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/Mavic Air/Mavic_Air_User_Manual_v1.2_en_2.pdf
then I believe the cable you need is the like of one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Or...usb-c+cable+charge+data&qid=1596748531&sr=8-8 from a reputable source of course, it MUST be data and charge capable NOT a charge only (if there are such things for USB-C)

That was the one.. I got round it by using the screen to connect to the internet and doing it through the controller/screen tablet with the aircraft and controller on green between them. Someone said the batteries will sort themselves out as I go through them in turn using them. I don't know how true that is.
