I am a recreational droner and Retired Military. I have been asked to use my drone to video a cemetery that has a Military section that has just been cleaned. The video will be posted along with photos taken by others. My question is since I will not be compensated monetarily or even mentioned in the program, can I legally do this?

Greg,
No. You'd need 107 to do it legally.
I may be able to help out. When is the event?
Let me know.

I have been asked
You can only fly Recreational for Yourself. If this is for a veterans organization I don't think you will have a problem getting it done. I would think any Patriotic, kind 107 pilot would Help you get this done......Heck you already are getting them here! :)

Unfortunately as a recreational pilot, you can only fly for fun and anything other than that, you need a part 107 to fly legally. Technically all drone flights require a part 107 but there is an exception when you don't need it and that's if you fly for fun.
