Can this lighting system interfere with the drone's flight?

There should be no ref interference. They appear to be battery powered. There is some possibility of compass interference when the lights are on. The power leads will have current flowing in them creating a magnetic field When they are on.

If there is any interference with the compass I will know by analyzing the flight data in Ar Data ... correct?

Not necessarily. Checking the drone’s orientation shown on the tablet with the drone’s actual position on the ground should match very closely. If there is interference, it will come and go when the lights are switched on and off. Compass calibration will only be valid for whatever state the drone’s lights were in when the calibration was performed.

So a calibration of the compass with the lights on before flights would be enough ?

The only interference you are even remotely likely to get is from the speed of the data that is passing through the LEDs. These are Neopixels and have 3 and sometimes 4 LEDS in each one as well as a controller chip. They operate at either 800KHz or 400KHz depending on the mode they are being driven, usually by an Arduino Microcontroller. The Microcontrollers typically run at 8 or 16MHz. Neither frequency is in the range of the AC’s transmitter or receiver.

As for the compass, calibration is recommended once the device is attached, powered or not to take into account any ferrous metal - likely none.

ok thanks a lot for the explanation. I have already cleared up the doubt.

The movie Close Encounters comes to mind. It’ll look great. Would love to see a video of it in action once you have it up and running.

Does the weight trigger payload mode in the mini?
To me it looks as if the battery housing might be in the field of vision of the downward looking sensors, is it?
