Transport Canada has issued a discussion paper. See DonDronesOn on Youtube. He has suggestions and links so that you may comment.

Who would have though GOVCO would consider that ?
Skeptics will say I told you so.
I guess compliance costs are higher than they thought and user pays, minimal voter affect, in fact they might get more general votes from the possibly general anti drone public.

At the moment drone costs here in Oz are pretty much non existent for rec drone pilots, quite high for commercial pilots.
I expect that will change once the new registration system settles in over the next few years.

I didn't read the article but is it a real hardship to Go from $5 to say $12? I suppose the super cheapskates among us will just let the registration lapse.

The government thinks nothing about raising fees 100 + % and that is why we keep electing them. There is no such thing as MP's being accountable for anything. The increase will piss me off but I can afford it but to some people $7.00 is the difference between dinner or no dinner.
