Hi There,

Im new to the world of droning. I just picked up a Mavic2 last week and have about 2 hours of flight time.

I downloaded my SD card and reviewed the footage. It was extremely choppy and laggy, Im not sure why.

I am running a Mid 2015 iMAC, with 2T Storage, 24G Memory, AMD Radeon R9 M290 2048 MB Graphics card - The computer is on steroids and it should be able to handle the $4k Footage.

The Micro SD card is 64g V30 Class 3 - Thats what I was told to buy at the store.

The footage that was stored on the internal drive look fine but my only issue is I can't download it from my drone LOL. When I connect it the drive shows up but its empty , but I have it in my app.

What am I doing wrong?

You formatted the sd card? And used the transfer cable supplied with the drone?

Card is just fine. There have been issues with macs with the onboard storage, sometimes out of the box it shows up as needing to be formatted. Need to format it with the mac, then with the drone, then it should be accessible.

How do I do this?

But doesnt V30 represent the fastest record speed? 30mb/s SO if he was recording 48 or 60 it might not work correctly?

You're confusing with framerate, nothing in common. You're also confusing Mb/s and MB/s.
The M2 records 4K video at 100Mb/s bitrate, which is only 12.5MB/s which is well within the card's capabilities.

Oh ok. Sorry i should have let more experienced people answer. Thanks :)

I run a Mid 2011 IMac I have same issue. Video choppy then when watch it on my tablet it’s great. Got amazing fireworks video from New Years

Ok so I did a test today and drop my footage down to 1080p. It was nice and smooth on play back.

So whats the deal? why wont I get a smooth playback on 4K?

You need an SD card that 's got the U3 symbol on it ... That represents the cards with the fastest minimum sustained write speed and the cards that are suitable for HD video recording.
Like one of these ...ScanDisk-Extreme-Pro-microSD-press.jpg

There have been reports of playback issues with Mav 2 Pro vid's recorded using the H.265 codec. Are you able to confirm what codec you are set to for recording??
It appears that the VLC media player [ Official download of VLC media player, the best Open Source player - VideoLAN ] can handle this codec better than most players.
If you are set to H.265 - then you can of course set H.264 4K vid and see if that makes a difference???

Yup, that. Your 2015 Mac is too old to have hardware to decode h265 so it will be trying to decode by software and likely isn't powerful enough for that. Try H264, it has hardware for that.
