This is the first in a short series of documentary videos on the historic, scenic Carrizo Gorge and the San Diego & Arizona Railway line that runs through it. This video explores the northern end of the gorge route.

Lovely piece of documentary - I hiked this route and on over the trestles back in 1993 with my colleague David Easter - we met a huge rattle snake warming itself next to the tracks at the end of the day!!

What a good example of using an aerial camera to enrich a story!

I wish DJI would create a ‘steadicam’ setting that would activate the gimbal with the motors off, allowing handheld maneuvering of the camera, resulting in smooth near-ground footage.

I used a large gimbal with my DSLR for some of the ground shots. At the time I was still learning how to use it, so didn't always get the best results.
