Exactly right.
There are military exercises going on near me and they are flying copters past my place at tree top level yet Can I Fly There says all good.
Surely it should be a temporary no fly zone?

Did you check NAIPS for Notams?

Ahh ok. Fair'n'uff.
The crux over there is pretty much similar to what happened in the discussion paper last year.
RePLs and ReOC's going off because they are hard done by, by Casa allowing the S2Ke class.
S2Ke's going off because they dont want to pay the huge fee's and insurances.. and they dont want to be tarred with the same brush as any old bloke flying a Phantom that he just bought from JB hifi, over the Opera House.
Just 'coz its a small rpa in the eyes of the Regulator, doesn't mean it was flown by a S2Ke operator.

Just had a look.
Nothing for Yeppoon that I can see.
I had one come past when I was upstairs and if it had been any closer I could have read the name tag on the girl hanging out of the door.
Luckily I had just landed.

I don't FB either.
The thing is I don't see any hazards as long as the rules are followed.
The biggest problem that CASA face is enforcing them.

I was doing a commercial job for a real estate company, checked CIFT, all OK, Checked Naips, nothing in the area....
Did the first days shooting, went back the next day and I spot a Bell heli fly through!! Search around, find the crew and sort out our flight area, they say we've been here for days!
Nothing on Naips! They were dropping Ant baits at low level.... I mean 30-50 mtrs AGL. My shots were required at max 120 mtrs....

These guys are playing war games at Shoalwater Bay just up the coast from me and have a week to go.
I told my son who is in the army and he reckons they were probably doing a beer run into town
