CE TO FCC

Hello

I have a few questions regarding the switch from CE to FCC mode:

1) Does the hack concern the controller? The drone? Or both?

2) If I have 2 controllers, can I set one to CE mode and the other to FCC mode and be able to switch between both modes without changing anything on the drone ?

3) Without any hack, does the mode depend on the location which means that if I travel in the US, it will automatically switch to FCC mode?

4) How can I perform the hack? (If it's allowed to talk about it)

Thanks in advance

We need to know what drone you have. I use the stable and reliable FCC-hack from drone-hacks.com , but it does not work on all drones.
On my Mavic 2 the answers are:
1. The drone
2. No
3. Yes (maybe depends on what drone)
4. Depends. There are different hacks.

Thank you for your answer

It would be on a Mavic 3 Classic

Thanks. And is it complicated or risky to do? Cause I know someone who can do it to me for 35 dollars
No Risk just check your firmware allows it and follow the steps shown

Thank you very much for your answers. Once I receive the drone, I will first check how is the reception and range in CE and if I'm not satisfied I will switch to FCC mode

Just a FYI...

On my recently purchesed second hand Mini 2 I seem to have permanent FCC mode in the EU:
- From DJI Assistant downgrade the FW from 01.07.0200 to 01.06.0200
- Install latest version of the DJI Fly app (I had v1.10.1)
- Use the free "Mavic Air 2 fcc" apk to set it to FCC (verify from DJI Fly App)
- Don't turn off the drone/RC, but upgrade the FW from the DJI Fly App

Now even after turning the drone off and on again it still is in FCC mode.
Not sure if this will keep to working, but for now it does. :)

Just an FYI, I have tried the patching apk on 01.07.0200 and it works fine, so no need to downgrade/upgrade.

I started the drone and controller and launched the app as normal, then i moved the plug from the top socket on the mini 2 controller to the bottom socket then launched the patching apk, pressed patch and switched the cable back to the top port, for ease i am going to buy a short USB C to USB C lead and i will use that instead of switching the cabl back and forth.

However it doesnt retain the FCC mode for me once the drone is switched off i had to redo the patch
