Without filters I could never get my shutter speed to double my frame rate. Resulting in overexposed footage.

The flares in the shots that are into the sun are pretty prominent. I'm referring to the circular orbs that look like the moon. Any idea if these are from the filters or the camera?

Hmm, not sure, I imagine they would be there either way, I honestly like the effect. I have also seen it in many feature films.

Yes, flares can be an artistic choice, but there are good flares and bad flares. These are bad in my opinion, as they look like actual objects rather than just light effects. Good flares generally look like light.

The reason I ask about the filters is the coatings are supposed to help with flares. I agree ND is needed though, whether there are flares or not.

What version of the software are you using? I don't have a choice of "None" for color.
