Confusing and Frustrating

On my MacBook Pro every memory card I have installed from several cameras and drones the pictures upload automatically in the Photos app. With my recently acquired Air 3 when I install the memory card the Photos app says "No Photos". The only way I download the pictures is by selecting import and going to the finder and downloading from there. I guess it works okay but why does it not work like every other memory card from other devices. I have tried it on two MacBooks and and iPad with no luck. But if I go to my window computer the pictures pop up and are ready to download. Very frustrating.

Amazing that I could be the only one that has run across this problem. I guess I should never have bought a pre owned drone. I do appreciate all the views.
