Connecting phone to controller wirelessly.

Hello all.
I’ve just ordered a mavic mini and I was wondering if you can connect your phone to the controller wirelessly? I have searched everywhere but can’t find an answer. If I could connect wirelessly it would free up the phone to connect to a large screen or goggles via the wire.
