This has happened to me occasionally in the past, where my RC Pro will start beeping during startup. Happens to my RC controllers too, and usually solved by moving the joysticks around. But yesterday my RC Pro started beeping during a flight and the left stick wouldn't respond to left/right turning motion, but luckily the drone was close and I could just back it up using the right stick and land it using the left stick down. Which would make me think the left stick is having some hardware issue with its left/right axis.

But I went into Settings in DJI Fly to do the RC Calibration and left/right motion on the left stick registers just fine. Both sticks and both dials register perfectly there it says "calibration complete" and I exit. But it's still beeping even through multiple reboots. And when I launch the drone a few feet off the ground it still won't respond to left/right action on the left stick.

Normally I'd just look at getting it repaired ASAP but the fact that the RC Calibration works fine is odd. I don't imagine anyone has any thoughts on this?

And is there a place to see what the cause of the beeping is? Seems odd to sound an alarm but not tell us what's causing the alarm exactly.

And if it does need a hardware repair, anyone know of a place I can mail the controller to have the repair done, other than DJI? I'm in the SF Bay Area if that's a factor but glad to mail it.

Try to factory reset your controller.

Me, I would send it to DJI. They are NOT fun to take apart, which is what you would have to do to replace that gimbal assembly.

yep I would send it in.

What custom firmware? What did you gain? You probably wouldn’t get the same controller back. Reinstall whatever hack was done?

The constant beeping ( unfortunately for you, Sorry ) usually indicates (and this may help) there is a firmware problem. You need to contact the creator of the firmware you flashed, Perhaps they have a forum there or a discussion group. You could also look at the GITHUB forums and ask there if it is custom firmware chances are someone there can help you.
The only other thing it could be is the controllers Calibration. I do not think you have a bad stick gimbal, at least it doesn't sound like it.
IF it turns out to be the gimbal, and IF you can find the gimbal only for sale, They are really not that much of a deal to install.

I don't think it's related to the hack though. Been using that controller as is for 6 months.

In my experience the constant beeping indicates an issue with the joystick. Furthermore what firmware issue could the beeping possibly indicate, especially after it's been successfully used for months on that controller? That combined with the fact that I am in fact having a problem with the left stick left/right axis supports that. As does the fact that I've used this firmware through hundreds of flights with no change even to settings. The only thing contradicting that is that the calibration works fine.

The left stick is super easily purchased. It's swappable by me probably, there's lots of videos on it, but I might just send it out for the repair. But I'm boggled that there is apparently no way to see what exactly the controller is sounding an alarm about.

But this is why I didn't want to mention the firmware, people will naturally point to that as the cause even though I don't really see any reason to suspect that, especially given the issue with the left stick. Fyi this is a Plus controller with the Pro firmware flashed to it. It's an absolute joy to use with drones that don't support the Plus like my Mavic 3 Pro and I personally don't see any reason to suspect a firmware issue here. But I guess swapping that left stick will tell the tale, unless there's another way to diagnose the beeping.

It has a constant beep because it is telling you that either the controllers firmware is not compatable with the Drones OR vice versa. IF this is indeed due to a bad stick strange then I can only tell you to purchase the gimbal and throw it in.

The constant beeping also happens when there's a joystick issue. Have you not experienced that? I do all the time, with this and my two RC 's and even my NS1. All the time. Usually jiggling the joystick fixes that. How would a firmware issue get introduced after months of use?

And again left joystick not working supports that. Ive heard of beeping from firmware issues but only after an initial load, never to a firmware that's been running for months.

Also the beeping happens long before it's connected to any drone, it's during boot up. Has nothing to do with a connection to a drone.

Again, I'm surprised that I can't see what the error is.

I myself have not but I have seen plenty of alienTech boosters that were owner installed and while there seem to be a few "tricks" to keep in mind, I would do it. It will take some time and patience I am SURE. I don't know how the PROs gimbals are installed but I am betting its a connector of some kind. I would prefer soldered tho, no "loose" connection problems. (hint to OP)

Have you opened an RC Pro?

This is an rc plus. That thinks it's a pro.

But no, haven't opened it and don't look forward to it, but there are a lot of videos demonstrating how to do it. But it is easy enough to send out if needed. I'd sure love to get confirmation that this is the issue before I do though.

Yes as long as you watch athe video before you do it I don't see you having a problem The case is tricky to separate from what I hear.

History of the unit itself may have some clues. Probably you didn’t purchase new.
I would lean towards the gimbal itself. Without knowing if the gimbals are interchangeable between the two or three controllers that are similar, may be a difficult part to get your hands on.
