Control app TX signal?

When using a control app for an autonomous mission must the drone and tx maintain signal? Can it be programmed to go to a certain point, say below a ridgeline or trees and continue the mission via gps or will a RTH be triggered when signal is lost?

Depends on the drone, anything running the Fly app, if you lose connection, it will RTH, hover, or land depending on what you have the failsafe loss of connection in the app.
