Controller Beeping

Hey guys, need some help.
When I turn on my RC it starts beeping the "oh no, low battery" beep and won't stop.
yes I have tried:
searching here
holding down the on/off button to restart
pressing the on/off button(and all the rest)
holding down the video start and the programmable button below the photo button(thought that worked once but couldn't replicate it)
I've managed to get it to work with turning it off and back on only twice in many tries over the course of a couple of days
searched around (here) and thought that my sticks might be out of alignment and moved them around a bit
searched google/youtube

Any suggestions for my next step?

Is the aircraft connected to the RC when you turn it on?
Or is it just a crazy controller??
If connected,
my investigative mind would say, try a different phone if you can to determine if the fault lies with the app, phone or phone connection. If the fault remains, then what does the app & controller tell you... does it say low battery?
Check the led's on the drone and compare with the manual, the LED's transmit warnings....

Happens with aircraft on or off, connected and unconnected.
Yes it will connect, aircraft flashes green, ready fly.
Only once did I connect phone while it was going on and the app didn't "say" anything. Everything looked normal.
Only thing that's different since this started is I haven't flown this drone in a couple of weeks

[/So the bleeping happens on the controller, with or without the aircraft connected, but the bleeping stops if you connect your phone, but starts without a phone connected.....
Mmmm, controller may have corrupted firmware / software - sorry just guessing... sounds like its time for a chat to DJI.
