controller doesn't turn on

Hello, I have the original Mavic, and recently I flew the craft. Afer landing it, I turned off the Mavic, but the controller would not turn off. I pressed the on/off button on the controller, there was a message "connecting..." and it was beeping. Finally, the battery died.

What could be wrong with the controller?

Could possibly be the switch itself is not functioning.

Did you press the button for 1 second and then press it again for 2-3 seconds?
