Controller Tablet Question

Mavic 2 Zoom / New Drone Pilot...
I would like to use my iPad Mini 4 as my controller screen.
It is the WiFi only model. Will that work, or does the tablet need GPS?
Any suggestions for a tablet holder?

I use wire between controller and mini 4. I have flight mood on mini. It’s working perfect for me. / fly safe. Have fun

There are only two flight functions that can use the GPS in your tablet:
1. Follow-me (the drone needs to know the location of its target) But active tracking works better anyway and doesn't need the extra GPS
2. Resetting your home point to the current location of the controller (used if you flew from a moving car or boat)

So you can pretty much do everything anyone needs to without a GPS unit in your tablet.
