I'm noticing since the last update my mini is taking much more time to get enough GPS sats to set the homepoint than it is used to. Anyone noticed that too?

Seems to be consistently taking more time than normal, that's what I was trying to say.
That's just the nature of GPS and how it works.
Is your launch point out in the open with an unobstructed view of the whole sky?
Having buildings, trees etc blocking off parts of the sky will reduce the number of sats visible and increase the time to acquire.

Check to see if your channel transmission mode is Manual. Switch to Auto, and GPS load should be faster.
The default setting since the latest firmware update is Manual. They’ve got to fix this !

The radio channel used is unrelated and should have no effect on GPS at all.
