No satellite positioning signal after last firmware update

Greetings everyone,

Last November I bought my DJI mini 4 pro and since then I haven't updated anything because it worked perfectly.

Two weeks ago I decided to upgrade it with intention of some usable things.
After upgrade I got "No satellite positioning" message EVERYWHERE.
(before upgrading in my hotel room in the center of city the signal was full and after I'm stuck with "no satellite positioning" message).

I tried (almost) everything, still the same. The last would be downgrading firmware (DJI assistant software doesn't allow downgrading) but I'm waiting for last message from DJI support.

Unofficial downgrading costs so DJI a bit disappointed by not having a solution for their customers in case new upgrades wouldn't work (we all know that new upgrades aren't always good or stable).

Do anyone here have or had the same issue and how you resolved it?

BTW after upgrade (..00.2000) I flew a bit.
RC controller took like forever to get on and set home point. The drone flew normally as the camera.

Thanks and best regards from Slovenia ☀️

Kristian

As you haven't mentioned it, I have to ask the obvious to eliminate that.
Are you getting that message out in the open in an area where the drone has a clear, unobstructed view of most of the sky?

Can you post a screenshot showing the message you are seeing?

Inside and outside (photo is darker so you can see the message).
I'm living in the center of small town and GPS signal before was minimum 10 satellites IN my apartment. Outside 15-20.

Now, 0 satellites inside, outside I have to fly few minutes to get at least 5 satellites.

It's highly unlikely that the firmware update caused the issue. Thousands of others have had no problem.

You said that the controller set a home point after the update. That would have required a good GPS position lock. Are you still having the problem?

As @Meta4 asked, "Are you getting that message out in the open in an area where the drone has a clear, unobstructed view of most of the sky?"

There’s a brand new update for the RC 2 to make it compatible with the Mini 5 Pro.

I recommend updating to it, so you can eliminate the prior update as the cause of your problems.

If your problem remains, it's likely hardware based, and time to contact Support.

@Meta4
inside my appartment and outside as well. Home point sets few minutes after having my drone in the air outside.
@MS Coast
drone worked perfectly before upgrade (I made about 600 km- 372 miles with it - no problems and without any firmware upgrades).
@GadgetGuy
Upgraded it this morning. Message is still the same.
I assume something; in the middle of first firmware upgrade the drone went off (probably because of overheating a bit). I know from past experience ( while working with PC hardware ) if upgrades ( expecially firmware upgrades ) aren't completed, that might affect on hardware.
Still in contact with DJI support and I'll share about anything new.
After this brand new upgrade I'll take my bird outside for a spin.

Might be an idea to try to re do the firmware on the drone which probably means connecting to DJI Assistant 2 on a computer. You’d like to think there would be some kind of checksum involved that would confirm that a patch was applied correctly but I don’t know that DJI do that.

How long are you waiting before takeoff?

It's normal for the drone to restart during a firmware upgrade. Did the drone switch off and stay off, or did it restart itself and remain on? Did you see a message stating that the update was done?
