Desfina is a town built amphitheatrically at the foot of Mount Kirfis. Desfina was inhabited since antiquity under the name Echedameia. In Desfina there is also the Monastery of Timios Prodromos which was distinguished during the revolution of 1821 as well as an important Byzantine monument, the church of Taxiarches, next to the church of Agios Charalambos which dates from the 12th century.
