DGI 4 not connecting.

New to drones.
I have watched video over and over where people turn on the controller and the drone and it automatically starts dgi 4 app or they start it and it automatically connects. I get nothing even when I manually try to launch it. The app itself launches but will not connect to the remote.
I'm using the small cable provided connecting to the side of the remote.
What's going on?

Try unplugging the side cable from the RC and use your Galaxy USB cable.

That worked! So what would I need to do to get the side plug to work? Was planning on using a power pack to connect to the USB port to keep phone and RC charged.

You can plug a power supply into the side of the RC while using the RC USB port to connect to your display. Then everything is being charged while you fly (although the RC power should easily last for 3 mavic batteries, at least it does for me).
