DJI GO 4 Bizarre behavior

I have a Mavic Pro since July 2017 with 22 flights, no crash and a total flight time of 3Hr29Min.
Latest DJI Go 4 version, latest firmware, iOS 11.3 on iPhone 8 and compass calibration before every flight.
Return to home is deactivated and the Mavic hovers on lost signal.
When I fly around with my Mavic I have very often disconnection, video signal loss, system failure alarms, app failures, etc.
So I tried the following in-flight turnarounds to get a normal DJI GO 4 app behavior:
  • Toggeling between normal and sports mode > no result;
  • Closing of the DJI GO 4 app and restarting > no result;
  • Turning off the remote controller and turning on again > no result;
  • Turning off the iPhone, turning on again and starting the DJI GO 4 app > is working.
I tried all so to turn off and on the Mavic on the landing pad, but there is also no result.
Question:
  1. Is this a common behavior when flying a Mavic with the DJI GO 4 app?
  2. Are there other flight apps who are more reliable?

1. Not common but happens. • The cable between your iPhone and RC may be defective. Try using the RC USB connector and your phone data cable instead of the side cable (disconnect side cable from RC). • There may be some lint or other obstruction in your phone connector hole preventing solid connection • A recent Go 4 update may have a bug in it. Consider downgrading Go 4.

2. Try Litchi. It is a good program (especially Waypoints), doesn't cost much, and it is good to have a second control app for a backup.

I would suggest the same, change your cable and use the Regular USB connector on the bottom of the controller. If it still does it in install Go4 app and re install . Or revert back to older Go 4 app . Then try this. 1ST Power up controller , then power up Mavic, then start Go 4 app. Always use that order . Make sure antenna
S are titled back towards you so the sides are facing Drone.

Hi,
Many thanks for the suggestions.
Have done a factory reset to my Mavic Pro, a reload of the latest firmware and all calibrations.
It seems to work now. If it happens again I will replace the cable.
Next time I will also test Litchi for the waypoints.

Glad to read all is well again. Sometimes these things can get frustrating to say the least . Especially when you do a update and it grounds you completely. So far Ive had good luck ( knock on wood) . Running the latest firmware and Go4 software. One thing I have learned Always do a compass calibration before each flight.
