Inability to fall sleep has prompted me to play with the M2P for a bit. The last time I flew it I did not use my iPad, instead I decided to use an old Android phone that I had. Tonight when I try to connect my iPad, it kept prompting me to reconnect. The remote connected just fine it’s simply the DJI GO 4 app would not connect.

So after scratching my head for a few minutes I decided to unplug the short cable that was plugged into the side of the remote... whalah! The iPad connected. I went back-and-forth a couple of times to ensure that was the culprit and indeed it was.

So apparently the side port must have a detection feature that a cable is plugged in even though there is no device connected at the other end and as such, disables the ability for the remote to pick up a device through the standard USB cable at the bottom. Hmph.

Known issue since MP1. I guess it's still same for MP2.

Yeah I figured that this platform has been around long enough for it not to be a glorious discovery. I was just too lazy to use search.

The Mavic 2 Manual said:
Do not use the Micro USB and USB ports simultaneously for video linking. Remove the cable from one port before connecting a device to the other port for video linking.

Another thing mentioned in the manual, although it's not entirely clear. I didn't realise you had to pull the entire cable out, I interpreted that as "don't try to plug two phones in at the same time".

Good to know Thumbswayup

Admittedly, I read about every fourth line of the manual, focusing on the points that were of interest to me so I didn’t see that. But yes, I had to unplug The cable. It did not matter that there was no device connected at the other end. Weird that they would do that. I am trying to figure out the logic behind it. Perhaps a mechanical kill was easier than a software based kill... Similar to headphone jack detection
