Can anyone help me figure out how to calibrate the imu and esc in dji go 4?

1. Remove Propellers. ...
2. Power on Aircraft. ...
3. Connect Device to Remote Controller. ...
4. Launch DJI GO 4 App.
5. Go to Main Remote Controller Settings.
6. Click Advanced Settings.
7. Select Sensors.
8. Tap Calibrate IMU.

I don't think I ever had to do this, so I am not sure. Do you really need to remove the propellors, or is that a safety concern?
