DJI Goggles not booting up

I posted on DJI Forum also but in the hope that someone here has a solution here goes:

I hear the sound of the goggles launching but the right screen says black and the left a very dark gray but no boot image / animation.

I tried downgrading firmware and still get the same result. I am out of warranty. Any suggestions?

Sounds like they may be defective.
