Droning on and on...

I’ve only ever tried a RTH and landing once for each of the 3 drones I own just to make sure it works. Surely bringing the drone home and landing it safely is all part of flying! It’s also a lot quieter with none of the loud warning beeps from the controller!
Meh. I always use RTH to come back and land (closely supervising, of course). I've been flying over 10 years, fly full acro FPV drones, etc. Skill isn't an issue, nor is "practicing" holding the stick to fly back, or manually landing.
Flying back to the HP and landing is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Even though I can control the speed of my car and gain nothing in "practicing" that skill, I still use Cruise Control all the time, especially on the freeway.
RTH is simply a flying aid. I have no criticism for those that would rather fly back and land themselves, nor those that feel it keeps their skills sharp. Neither is true for me, and I get more of a thrill out of watching the technology do it's thing than me doing it.
