Hi all: My one complaint about my Mini 1 is its reluctance to fly well in a breeze (darn near lost it as is drifted past me, struggling at 10' altitude). Fortunately I set it down and went and fetched it.
Now I hear the the new propellers for the Mini 2 are 'stiffer' and would help to combat the affects of the breezes. So, I went to the DJI site to order a set. Whereupon I see that the original Mini (mine) isn't in the 'compatible' list. Hmmmm...
For the $15 (CAD) I'd kinda like to give them a 'whirl'...
What thoughts have you on the matter.... anyone tried it yet?

While not recommended to reuse screws, would one be able to use the new propellers on the Mini1 using the screws that were on the "appproved" propellers?

Propellers were one of my complaints on the Mini1. They were so thin that they were subject to warping if pinned in an unnatural positions for any number of hours. I also suspect that the lack of stiffness resulted in reduced agility. Also, over time I found that some propellers developed some vertical play even though the screws were in full and solid.

the props on the Mini2 have a different hub thickness so the screw is longer so you cant use the MM screws to fix the new props

I have not had an issue flying the Mini in windy conditions. There is some drift, maybe a foot or so, but my P3A also had drift, especially if my orientation had the wind as a crosswind. I was going to fly my M2Z that day, but the batteries had self discharged to 60%.

Wow...so much helpfuls.....
Well, the fact is the Mini is designed to fly is little to no wind, the weight has an affect too, a heavier aircraft can lose altitude and use it for forward movement against the wind better than a light aircraft. While Hafa asai flier's comment might not have been helpful to your specific question, I would not like anyone reading this thread to get the impression that changing props would make the Mini suitable for windier days :)

My comment was in response to Starz comment that can be comparable to "well just buy something better, duh".
It's unhelpful and passive aggressive things like that that turn new people away. Without any clarification that they were joking it can easily be looked at as demeaning. I, for one, have no problem calling out demeaning and oppressive behavior. I believe tat's somewhere in just about every forum rules out there.

I would not say it's a fact MM1 is designed for little to no wind. It can fly just fine in winds I would call quite brisk. Not as much wind handling as its older brothers but still good considering its size.

Weight doesn't help much for being able to counter winds, but it does help dampen wind changes.

Now the Tello I have trouble in light breezes.

Me either. My MM1 seems to be pretty steady too in minor windy conditions.

I would even go as far as saying it does fine in moderate winds. Sounds horrible and not precision steady, but still holds its own.

I wish the wind warnings would give an indication of how close to being an issue it really is. When I can go 3mph in headwind at 1/4 stick, I'm not worried despite the warnings. Still I try to stay into the wind when flying away from me.
