I have a DJI Mavic Pro that crashed either on a 3 story building rooftop or the heavy trees surrounding the roof a year ago. While the battery was found on the ground a few weeks later, the drone itself was just found a few days ago inside a bushy evergreen tree--a year later (Chicago, IL weather). While it does have some minor external bruises, the body is in good shape. The memory card still had video and pics available but when putting a charged battery into the drone it will not turn on and is dead (maybe winter snow and rain not so good :)).

While I got this drone new 3 or 4 years ago, I doubt it has even 20 hours of flight time. My question is, is it even worth trying to get this repaired or is the likely repair costs exceed the value of this drone since it is used and an older model? [If anybody fixes this kind of repair]. I never had any kind of DJI Repair plan.

They can be had for 250-300 dollars. I would just replace the Drone, not really worth all the fixing. unless you just wanna learn to fix it (That will run you about the same).

Honestly, you will be lucky to find a Mavic Pro for that price. Look on Facebook or ebay and you find they range $400-800. I check Facebook daily and only once have i found just the drone for sale. Just my 2 cents worth.

You may call a DJI repair center and see if they will take a look at it. They will replace it if they are still available. When they replaced mine about three years ago it was around $300. Then you will have to register it with the FAA (new serial number).

If you pay that you are crazy! looking right now on Ebay. I count over a dozen for 300 or less, one is still in the box! The DJI superstore sells them BRAND NEW REFURB for 500.

Thanks all for the responses and good advice. I definitely do not want to even try and do the repairs myself. I will just go ahead and buy a used one.

Those are the prices in my area of N.E. Ohio and N.W. Pa. I myself would never pay that, but some people think their stuff is gold.

So, I bought a used Mavic Pro Platinum and it works just fine. Then literally, a week after it arrived, one of my neighbors knocks on my door and he has my original drone in his hand that he found in another neighbor's arborvitae tree (He said the sun was hitting it just right and it shined in his eyes). Now this drone has been lost for a year through winter snow, fall, spring, and summer thunderstorms, etc. I put a fresh battery in it and it flew just fine! The only thing is the camera is not showing any video/picture on the DJI to Go app. The camera does show video when you go to calibrate the sensors using the DJI Assist App (the calibration process fails when it is calculating--not sure if this is related or not). I updated all the apps, firmware, etc. and tried resetting to factory defaults, but no luck there. Anyone have any other ideas to try? Else, I can just fly it without a camera and am just happy to get it back!

Your camera probably got toasted from all the heat and moisture. I would be amazed if it worked! Great break on the Drone...
I would take it apart a bit and clean the boards for sure....I have a Mavic with no DJI cam on it...I hot glued a Emaxx miniwhoop stack to the top of it and flew it around with my fatshark scouts, It was kinda fun but nah.....OEM cameras for that Drone are about 65 bucks U.S. on Ebay.

Thanks for the feedback Cafguy. I didn't think about hot gluing this old Iphone or Go-Pro I have laying around here.. :)But the thing is, the camera works when you are calibrating the sensors using DJI Assist--so I know the camera itself is working and you can also move the gimble around just fine. It doesn't broadcast the camera image to the DJI Go Fly App for whatever reason.
