Mini DJI Mini 2

Hi Jim,
the location is amazing but unfortunately the video is a bit boring because you have only one long shot of 2.10 minutes. You should have made several shots of the beautiful area, such as different shots from a higher position and some shots where the drone doesn´t move too fast, some closer shot would also have been required. As also some slow "lifting" shots along palm trees. In short a variety of man different angles of the location. Of course doing so it requires an editing of the footage, but it would be worth it, believe me ?
If you live nearby the pond why not retry?
cheers Paul

I enjoyed it. Not boring for me, I like short flights with no interruptions to the actual flight.
Then again, you can't please everyone. Stay safe!

Hello Jack,

I respectfully disagree with your assessment. There are 2 different types of Drone videos, the slower relaxing type consisting of different shots from different angles and requiring a lot of editing. And the single continuous low flying shot requiring more risk and greater flying skill. I like both but the second type requires less flying skill and much more time to edit. That type of video appeals to folks who want a more relaxing video. The lower faster continuous video appeals to folks who want a more exciting or thrilling video. Based on the number of views I get on my Youtube videos my audience much prefer the faster low flying riskier videos. I also much prefer them. I enjoy watching videos of FPV racers tearing down a mountain canyon at 80 mph and 10' above the ground. I enjoy the risk and appreciate their flying skills. Again, both are good and just appeal to different audiences. The above video got over 600 views on the first day, a record for me. The below video took me over a week of daily flights, many miles of hiking, several hours of video and several hours to edit. It received around 100 views the first day and over a month later it has only 1000 views. Again, I like both types of video but it all comes down to individual preference.

I would agree with Jim, both types of videos can be good (or bad). Personal preference plays a part for sure. One highlights editing skills and can be used to camouflage flying skills that are less than expert. The other benefits from superior piloting skills.

Thanks Barbara. Thought I'd share this video below (not mine), it was taken in the same general area as mine but these young guys have insane skills that I can only dream about! This was done with FPV racers of course. Probably my favorite FPV video ever! Turn the music up for this one!

Very creative just using nat-sot for audio and it worked well since the video was short. That has to be the first golf course that is ALL sand traps with just a little turf thrown in! What a challenge. Here's a thought, assuming your audio recorder is stereo, try "walking" the same route your drone flew. That way the stereo sound would sound like it same from the drone and engage the viewer even more. But hey, I liked it!

Okay, well that's on a completely different level of flying. I wonder how many drones they go through. Fun to watch though, some very skilled flying.

Me, even with a stabilized drone like the M2, I sometimes feel lucky to be able to fly in a straight line. (Essential tremor sucks) So I have to rely on the editing. Regardless, won't stop me flying.

I love these FPV videos. Thanks to the amazing stabilization built into the GoPros now plus editing stabilization, the videos look rock steady even though there is no gimbal. Yes, these guys certainly have a whole different level of skill flying than we do but it's my understanding that they DO crash and when they do, they just switch to the next drone since they have two, three or more ready to go. Then they take the crashed one home later and rebuild it!

Looks great... I would just add some music to make it more engaging.
