i have a mini 3 and the rc controller, can that controller be used for another mini 3 or do i need another one?

You can use the controller you have for any other Mini 3

The controller will work on other DJI models, too. There are some issues involved with swapping a controller between multiple drones and also with making a permanent change to a new drone. You might look into that.

If you move permanently to a new drone you must first unbind the drone from the old controller and then pair and bind it to the new controller.

If you're switching back and forth between two drones, you have to pair the drone with each switch and possibly download firmware. And you can fly the drone only five times without binding it to the controller.
