DJI Mini SE Error message (before flight): Reached Maximum Altitude

I keep getting an audio error message something like "...Reached Maximum Altitude..." and can't launch.
Pretty sure I've connected the controller with the aircraft.
I tried to launch in Sherwood, OR about 300' above MSL.
Camera is working, can take pics and videos.
Can someone pls lead me toward the fix?
The device manuals don't cover this topic.

Wish I could. It's an audio only
message and a word or two is inaudible

What maximum altitude have you set the drone at in the settings? And have you flown it before?

Oops I now see "audio" in the opening post, sorry.

Check the Max altitude setting in settings. What is it set at? How many satellites are connected?
