DJI Pilot app not connecting to Mavic 2

I normally use DJI Go 4 which has always worked fine. I've recently downloaded the DJI Pilot app as well, as it features the local data mode allowing me to fly securely (I'm military). I tried to use the app today to check for updates, however it wouldn't connect to the aircraft. DJI Go 4 always pops up automatically whenever I connect the controller, but I can't find a way to set default apps if any. Is anyone else having similar issues? If so anyone know a fix?
