Well, well, well. Promises, promises, promises.
DJI: “Pre-Order Yours Today”!!! Me: “I did”! Without a second of hesitation. Nov 1st, 2019 Friday afternoon.

YouTube is flooded with DJI Mavic Mini videos. It seems like everybody has one already! What’s the deal?

Do I need a million subscribers to get mine on time? Was this preferential treatment for those who have YouTube channels?

Who here was NOT going to post a YouTube video about their new Mavic MINI? Oh wait, maybe I know, people who are not on DJI’s payroll. People who might speak honestly about the product because they aren’t sponsored.

I was scheduled to receive my Mavic MINI over a week ago. The date has kept changing and changing. Now my vendor from Amazon has just given up. I received an email from the Seller, who did not mince words, DJI is the reason they haven’t shipped the product.

How slow is this process going you might ask. So slow, that I have all the accessories for the drone BUT STILL NO Mavic Mini. I have landing gear, propellers, and an extra battery for a drone they haven’t shipped yet.

The following is the email I received: ( Translation Follows )
Message from seller:
この度は納期遅れの為ご迷惑をおかけし誠に申し訳ございません。

また納期遅延メールを送信させていただいておりましたが、システムエラーで送信できていないことが本日判明いたしました。
誠に申し訳ございません。心よりお詫び申し上げます。

発送が遅れてしまった背景を詳細に説明させていただきます。

弊社はDJIに数百台という大量な数を発注しておりましてもちろんDJIに大きな発注全額分全額を既にお支払い済でございます。
当初DJIからはAmazonでご注文されたお客様全てへ発送できる台数分が納品されるはずでしたが、
実際に昨日弊社へ発送通知があったMavic mini コンボはわずかな台数でございました。
全てのお客様にお届けできる予定でしたが本来送られてくるはずの数百台ではなく
わずかな台数となり結果的にDJIに裏切られたという状況になっております。
弊社も被害者側となっており大変遺憾でございます。
そのため納品時期も遅れ、お客様に間近での遅延のご案内をするという形となってしまいました。心よりお詫び申し上げます。
もちろん弊社からDJIへ猛抗議中でございますが現時点では12月中旬または下旬以降の入荷予定でございます。

尚、Amazonの「お届け予定日」の表示でございますが、当店としましても日にちを変更をしたく存じますが
Amazonのシステム上、一度決まったスケジュールは変更できないようになっております。恐れ入りますがご理解いただきたく存じます。

ご希望でしたらキャンセルも承りますのでお知らせください。
ご連絡がない場合は入荷次第順次発送させていただきますのでもうしばらくお待ちくださいませ。

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused by the delay in delivery.

We also sent a delayed delivery email, but today we found out that it was not possible to send it due to a system error.
I am truly sorry. I apologize from the bottom of my heart.

I will explain in detail the background behind the delay.

We have ordered a large number of hundreds of units from DJI, and of course we have already paid the full amount for DJI.
Originally, DJI was supposed to deliver the number of units that could be shipped to all customers who ordered on Amazon.
Actually, there were only a few Mavic mini combos that were notified to us yesterday.
It was scheduled to be delivered to all customers, but not the hundreds that should have been sent
We received only a small number of the order. As a result, we feel betrayed by DJI.
We are also a victim and we are very sorry.
Furthermore, the delivery time was delayed, and our customers were informed of the delay in the near future. I apologize from the bottom of my heart.

Of course we are protesting to DJI from our company, but at this time it is scheduled to be received from mid-December or later.

*If you get it by Christmas, you’ll be lucky.

In addition, although it is a display of Amazon's “scheduled delivery date”, we would like to change the date even if it is our shop.
On the Amazon system, once a schedule has been set, it cannot be changed. I'd like you to understand.

If you wish, please let us know so you can cancel.
If you do not contact us, we will send it out as soon as it arrives, so please be patient.

It looks like Christmas is going to have to wait. Can you imagine how hard it is for a father to tell his children that their present won’t be here in time?

I love DJI products and their drones, but somebody really dropped the ball on this one. Soon it will be so cold that you wouldn’t be able to go out and test your drone. So much for the 1 year warranty. Make it 9 months because I probably won’t be able to use it until April.

Very disappointed.
 
I ordered direct from DJI and after waiting 3 weeks for shipping info, I canceled the order and reordered from Florida Drone Supply , it was shipped same day and arrived three days later, I did miss delivery because I was unaware that it was shipped with a signature required, But I got my mIni and tickled to death with it. It is more than I expected , the video is spectacular in my opinion

Cool Beans! I have no doubt the drone is awesome. Especially after watching everybody else have a great day! OOHHH, AHHHH, it can do this, it can do that. I don’t watch porn people. I do things myself. Where’s mine? If it’s so good, I may even buy 2.

I was at the “Take my money” stage a long time ago. After you take my money, DJI is supposed to hand me a bag with a brand new Mavic Mini drone inside.

What is the point of a “Pre-Ordering” system, if you don’t fulfill those orders before stocking shelves at brick and mortar retailers. Anybody who pre-orders is mostly likely part of your company’s fan base and perhaps your most loyal customers.

I have a DJI Action, DJI OSMO Pocket, DJI Ryze Tello and a DJI Mavic Air. I will be contacting DJI directly today and in the days to come.

DJI if you should happen to read this. Now is not the time to rest on your laurels. The competition is catching up. Don’t think that SkyDio is not hot on your tail. Once they start selling worldwide, don’t think for a second that I’m not going to give that Skydio 2 a shot at the title.
 
Who was the seller? It doesn't sound like you ordered from DJI. Was it an authorized reseller?

They could have made all that up to cover their butts. Just saying you didn’t buy from DJI you bought from VANIA.

Clearly VANIA is trying to blame DJI, but the details of their arrangement with DJI are unverified, but DJI didn't promise you anything.

I just got off the phone with DJI Stores: DJI Arena Tokyo, DJI Shinjuku, DJI Nihombashi. They are not stocked.

Furthermore, I was quoted that they expect to receive shipments NEXT YEAR.

I do not doubt the integrity of Japanese e-tailors. They have been transparent throughout the whole process.

I have been here over 20 years and this is the first time that I have ever experienced anything like this.

I might politely remind you ( as you are coming to DJI’s defense ) that we are worlds apart when it comes to service.

After getting information from the horse’s mouth and I’m 100% confident that this on DJI.
 
Look I hate your having this issue but I was right with what
I posted. You bought through Amazon not DJI and we just
gonna have to agree to disagree on on who we trust.
Looks like you trusted the wrong one.

This forum is not intended to be a mechanism for people to vent frustrations about manufacturers, distributors or sales from private parties.

OP, where are you located? Can you not just cancel your order and place a new order with a vendor that actually has inventory? I ordered on a Monday afternoon through Best Buy and it shipped from Ontario same day and I received it in British Columbia on the Friday, I was very happy with Best Buy's delivery time.
 
Read post 12 again, I would say Japan.

OP, where are you located? Can you not just cancel your order and place a new order with a vendor that actually has inventory? I ordered on a Monday afternoon through Best Buy and it shipped from Ontario same day and I received it in British Columbia on the Friday, I was very happy with Best Buy's delivery time.
I’m in Japan. I’m expecting the 199g Japanese version.

I ordered direct from DJI and it came last Monday, which is 2 weeks early. ANd I am in Guam. It just goes to HK, Incheon and over. You should just go DJI direct if you're in Japan. Would probably go HK-Narita-you!
 
cant fault DJI service preordered on the30th oct on the dji site said delivery 15 -25 days from receiving order for the combo then on the 11th nov had email saying on its way and it was delivered on the 18th nov it would seem that dji put preordered first for once

I would like to close this thread. I want to respect the community rules always. I really appreciate the patience the moderators showed. This is a truly powerful place. I made some noise and thanks to this website I received this only a few minutes ago. For everyone that helped here, here’s the happy ending.

VANIA is connected to UL. They are an authorized DJI dealer.
