Another question. Will a standard remote control work with two different drones? Mavic2 pro and zoom. Seeing if it will be a good back up just in case the SC fails at any point.

Yes again. One controller will work for either aircraft. Just need to link when you switch aircraft.

The DJI mavic 2 Zoom and the DJI Mavic 2 Pro are the exact same drone, the only different is the camera and Gimbel. Everything else is identicle, so controllers and other non-camera related assessories will work exactly the same. Also, remember that you will need to pair the controlller to the drone each time you switch. (How to Link the Mavic 2 Remote Controller | Heliguy)

With the smart controller, simply slide your finger down from the top of the screen, select "Switch aircraft" and then select your drone. The controller will connect to that aircraft. No relinking needed.

You can also use the SC and the controller as master and slave with a partner. Useful if you want to train another user while retaining control.
