Do skins affect the reception / range ?

Just curious, I know the skins are not metallic, but wondering if the vinyl skins on the front legs (antenna) affect the range of the M2P.

If they do it's going to very minimal and likely to be a rounding error in relation to other propogation considerations. PVC is regarded as RF transparent, and a skin is going to be a pretty thin layer of PVC compared to (say) the PVC/PPL/ABS/etc. casings that are commonly used as housings for antennae, etc.

Yep, skin on mine and I noticed no difference.
