Do you always fly with an ND filter?

Or do you not use one?
Yes, for two reasons.
  1. Lens protection, especially flying in dusty environment.
  2. Elimination of jello effect on the gimbal. A little weight on the lens avoids uncontrolled movements of the gimbal called jello, that spoil your shooting.

Just out of curioustity, I ordered a SunnyLife CPL filter for my Mavic Mini. It actually helped cut down all the glare when flying over water, and made the colors pop.

Like most members, I always use ND/CPL filters to improve colours and to protect lens element when flying. Freewell are excellent, cannot say anything bad about them and are reasonably priced.

I always fly with at least a polarizer. It helps cut through haze, pops the greens, reduces reflections, enhances clouds and allows the sensory to work at a lower shutter speed making the video less staccato looking. And, it offers protection from the front element. These little sensors cannot take any flecks of dirt or scratches as they become very apparent on the video/photos.

Agree 110%! Best addition I've added to my Mavic Pro flying - a NDPL16 filter is on my Mavy 90% of the flying time because we have so much SUNSHINE in AZ. I love how it makes the dull brown desert a bit more colorful in the winter time. Those filters make my amateurish videos look much better! I wouldn't fly on a bright, sunny day without it! ! !

Anyone have an opinion on Fstop Lab filters? Looks like they just released a set that include ND4, 8, and 16 each with a CPL option.

EDIT: as well as a 6 pack with and without CPL:
