Does the FAA send reminders?

I received a reminder that it's time to renew my UAS registration. Looks like the facts are correct. Is this legit?

Pretty similar. Same URL, etc. Slightly different layout and mine is "wordier." Attached. Seems all the info is correct. It's just that these days, it gets harder and harder to determine whether some unsolicited email is legit or not.

It's asking for all my credit card info before telling me how much it is. I believe it used to be $5.00. Is that still true?

If you have any doubts, I would just ignore all the emails (you are correct, can't trust them) and just go to faa.gov and deal with your business directly there.

I get the reminders but I sure as heck don't click thru; that's a bad bad habit if you don't have to.

Don’t click the links on that email or any you ever get from others to pay anything, always make payments on the official websites directly.

It should be faadronezone.FAA.gov, but type it in yourself if you are not comfortable with verification of websites and don’t use search result links either.

I post this on my digital citizen chapter quiz I give my tech students as a joke, but there is some truth to it:
