Does the gimbal control board really need special calibration software to replace??

Hi,

I've broken the control board above the gimbal so need to replace it. There's a used one on ebay but in the description the seller wrote this;


"Mavic Pro gimbal control board, tested and removed from a working drone.

You cannot use this part unless you have the DJI gimbal calibration software - available only to DJI repairers.

This part can only be fitted by an authorised DJI repairer - it is NOT for fitting by home users.

Returns not accepted."


Is this true? Seems odd that I can't just switch the boards out?

Any help much appreciated.

Maybe the board is serial number specific. It may have information from the drone it came off of..just my thought..

It could do, does anyone have a definitive answer to this?

It seems odd that it would be specific to the exact drone but I totally get your point.

yes you will need their tools to repair it unfortunetley. But sometimes you can email DJI techs directly and they will help you with the repair - they are pretty cool. One walked me through how to replace a front right wing - soldering and all... Good luck...
