I'm asking if it shoots photos or do I need to take the pictures from the video I shot. I never asked if it stop shooting????

So, your question is how do you get photos if you recorded video? If so, you will need to pull stills from the video. It does not shoot photos while you're recording video.

Use "take picture" Button front right on Remote.
But first change from video recording to foto shoot in menu on screen.

You don't need to do that, the photo button on the remote always takes a photo (as long as you're not recording).
