Does this mean we have to take our mavics/drones out too?

this article says that cameras and things bigger than a cell phone must be taken out, so I would assume it includes drones too. What are your guys' opinions on this new rule?

It is what it is...if they (TSA) asks me to "boot up" my drone I will comply. I'm happy that we are allowed to travel with are toys/tools.

I'm almost sure you would have to. A possible way around it would be to put the drone into checked luggage and just take the batteries in your carry-on, as required.
